Meet the team

A man standing outdoors on a dirt path holding a fishing spear with a large fish and three smaller fish hanging from his hand, with a river and cloudy sky in the background.

Brandon served in both the U.S. Army and the Air Force and now channels that same dedication into protecting wild places. He loves spearfishing, gardening, and working to restore the health of our waterways. He believes that clean water, healthy soil, and nutrient-dense food are all connected, and he is committed to being part of that cycle in a positive way. His favorite place to dive is Starvation Reservoir, and when he’s not in the water, he’s likely in the garden or planning his next spearfishing trip.

Favorite joke: I was going to tell you a joke about carp, but it’s kind of fishy.

Favorite vegetable to grow: Cucumbers!

Emily is a molecular biologist with a lifelong connection to the water and organic gardening. She grew up in Florida swimming, dodging chickens and diving before moving west for the mountains. Utah is now home and where she discovered climbing, snowboarding, and eventually spearfishing. She spends most weekends in the water, usually with her dog Lily in tow. She is deeply passionate about the connection between healthy waterways, living soils and organic food production. Let’s grow good food the right way!

Favorite joke: What’s a pirate’s favorite molecule? AArrrrrrr(NA), get it. RNA.

Favorite vegetable to grow: butternut squash and rainbow chard
